Ministry: Spots distributed in three TVs

Ministry: Spots distributed in three TVs
The Ministry of Transports reacted about the Road Directory TV advertisements by releasing the first government official reaction to the state owned TV advertisement scandal that was reported by the opposition. The Ministry led by Sokol Olldashi said that the declarations of the Socialist MP Shalsi are abusive and untrue.

The Ministry of Transports declared that the money that Shalsi claims to have been given to the “Promo” studio was distributed among three national TV stations.

While the Socialist MP declared that the total money spent was 18 million ALL, the Ministry says that the total sum is in fact 13.8 million ALL.

Besides the inconsistency of figures between the Ministry and the SP – with the SP saying that they have received them a few months ago by the Ministry of Transports itself – the latter has also calculated the funds that have been given to the private TV Klan and the state owned TVSH as one, by not saying how much has received each.

“The sum mentioned by Mr. Shalsi was distributed to three national TV stations. For the first video, the 6.2 million ALL sum was divided with 1.8 million ALL to Top Channel and 4.4 million ALL to TVSH and TV Klan. The second 7.6 million ALL spot was divided between TV Klan and TVSH with 4.9 million ALL, and Top Channel with 2.7 million ALL”, explained the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Transports.

According to the Ministry, the document that the Socialist MP refers to is the one that Minister Olldashi used as an answer to the other Socialist MP, Erjon Brace.

“Mr. Shalsi hasn’t caught anyone red-handed, because his letter is the official response that Minister Olldashi has sent to MP Erjon Brace after the requests for information”, the Spokesperson declared.

The data to which the Socialist Party refers to have been officially taken from the Ministry of Transports, which has paid 1.6 million USD in the last five years.

Shalsi’s report says that 800.000 USD were used for three pro-government newspapers, while 190.000 were profited by the Promo Company.

The Ministry of Transport data show that the National TV “Top Channel” has received 4.5 million ALL, 45.000 USD, which is the only sum that Top Channel has received from this Ministry since 2007.
